Services provided by our Nurse Case Managers are at no additional charge. We will always be there for you as time goes on and as needs change. We will work with you and with your loved ones to make short-term and long-term care management plans for their in-home care needs.

The rate for hiring a PSW in Ontario from a home care agency averages between $30 to $45 per hour. Some agencies may require a minimum number of hours per visit, and some may also offer discounts if you would like to hire a PSW for more than a certain number of hours. Although some home care agencies in Ontario make their pricing publicly available, oftentimes you will need to directly contact the agency to get a rate.

In Ontario, publicly funded home care falls under Home and Community Support Services (HCCSS) – formerly Local Health Integrated Network (LHIN). For those in the Waterloo Wellington Region go to WWHCCSS call 519-748-2222 to determine eligibility for you or your loved one.

At Promyse Home Care there are no service contracts. We simply have a 24-hour cancellation policy, meaning that we need notice of 24 hours or more to cancel care.

Each of our caregivers is thoroughly screened, interviewed, and must pass a background check. Our caregivers are bonded and insured as well as covered by Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB). All caregivers receive a thorough introduction to our company’s policies, our approach to care and our internal continual education opportunities.

We understand that hiring a caregiver is an unfamiliar experience for many seniors and that this may be the first time you introduce a caregiver to the home. To help alleviate any anxieties that arise, a senior care manager will accompany the staff member to introduce them to your loved one at the beginning of service and provide any client-specific training to deal with unique and complex care situations.

Long-term care facilities provide 24-hour resident-focused care for the elderly who need nursing care. Sometimes the government-mandated minimum level of care just isn’t enough for many seniors. Here is what Promyse offers to help:

  • If your parent or loved one needs to be bathed or washed more than twice a week (the minimum standard set by the Ontario government), we can assist with this.
  • We can help with feeding, eating, and drinking. 
  • Staff at nursing homes may be stretched thin. We can help frail seniors with toileting, general hygiene, and other daily tasks to keep them comfortable and safe.

We can provide companionship, socialization, and mental stimulation for your parent or loved one in a nursing home.

Yes. It is common for us to provide clients with additional care in these situations. The most common reasons include:

  • The resident is currently on a Long-Term Care bed waitlist.
  • The resident is recovering from a recent health crisis.
  • The resident does not wish to move to Long Term Care and can manage with additional home care.
  • The resident needs assistance with medications, diabetic monitoring, insulin injections.
